NationBuilder's long list of features just got better. The folks over there are constantly making improvements to their theming and this Sunday released an update about the improvements they’ve made recently.
Firstly, they’ve implemented an easier way to add a header image to your site. Before you had to make a custom theme and modify the HTML, but now all you have to do is go into Pages > Settings > Header image and upload your header from there.
Second, they’ve added a new Focus theme. This theme gives your site a distinct style by using a giant photo as a background image. Again, to do this before you had to make your own custom theme, but now, with Focus, you can have this customized look quickly and easily. To add Focus just go to Pages > Theme > Official themes. Once added you can try different photos by going to Pages > Settings > Background image.
Third, they’ve added new email themes. These guys help out with event invitations, fundraisers and newsletters, and there’s even one who uses your new header image. Like all themes, these can be cloned and customized any way you want.
Fourth, they’ve expanded their custom theme screencast. They’re now getting into more advanced custom theming topics like helping you with styling your sites with SCSS or bringing in the latest content from blogs and event calendars to your home page through Liquid.
Lastly, they’ve begun hosting some live webinars to help you get the most out of their community organizing system. The next one is Friday and it'll go through their new features and the basics of their content and community pages, and it's free.
